Other Lufthansa cabin rules worth knowing

Any bag you bring to the gate counts as cabin baggage, whatever your checked allowance. On codeshares, the operating airline's rules apply.
Duty-free shopping isn't an extra item: it must fit within your cabin allowance.
A folding garment bag (max 57 × 54 × 15 cm, 8 kg) and small musical instruments (max 125 cm in total, 8 kg) count towards your allowance.
On busy flights Lufthansa emails you in advance and lets you drop a compliant cabin bag at check-in for free.
On full flights with smaller aircraft, larger cabin bags may be checked and handed back at the aircraft steps.
From the US, and on connections after arriving there, TSA allows only 1 cabin bag + 1 under-seat bag, whatever your class or status.
