If your cabin bag is over the allowance and your fare includes checked bags, repack into a checked bag, buy a Prepaid Extra Bag or pay excess charges at the airport. On a Seat fare, change your booking to include a checked bag.

Other Air New Zealand cabin rules worth knowing
- Add the three sides together: the total must be 118 cm or less, including wheels and packed-away handles.
- On smaller Q300 aircraft, the 23 cm side must not exceed 22 cm.
- Koru Gold, Koru Platinum, Koru Black and Star Alliance Gold members can bring two cabin bags (14 kg in total, one up to 10 kg) plus one small personal item.
- A coat, wrap or blanket, a small camera or duty-free goods can count as your small personal item.
- These allowances apply to flights operated by Air New Zealand. On codeshare or partner flights, check the other airline's allowance.
