Southampton Airport hand luggage liquids rules
At Southampton Airport each liquid container can hold up to 100 ml, with no clear plastic bag and no limit on how many, and laptops can stay in your bag.
- Largest container
- 100 ml per item
- Clear bag needed
- Not stated
- Liquids stay in bag
- Yes
- Laptops stay in bag
- Yes
- Every lane
- Yes, all lanes
Containers over 100 ml are not allowed, even part full. Baby food and milk for an infant, and essential medicines over 100 ml, can go through: bring proof such as a prescription or doctor's note, and expect extra screening. The airport reported its new scanners fully operational on 23 May 2025. Its customer-service page still mentions a clear resealable bag: that is out of date, because the security and FAQ pages say none is needed.
Medicines, baby food and duty-free in sealed bags are exempt from the 100 ml limit. Rules vary by airport, so check your return and connecting airports too.
