Berlin Brandenburg Airport hand luggage liquids rules
At Berlin Brandenburg the rule depends on the lane: CT lanes take containers up to 2 litres with everything left in your bag, but older lanes in Terminal 1 still need 100 ml containers in a clear bag.
- Largest container
- 100 ml per item
- Clear bag needed
- Clear resealable bag, max 1 litre (conventional lanes only)
- Liquids stay in bag
- Not stated
- Laptops stay in bag

- Every lane
- Not all lanes
CT lanes (Terminal 1 control areas 1 and 5, and the Terminal 2 control area): containers up to 2 litres, no bag needed, and electronics can stay in your bag. Double-walled flasks should be empty, and the airport suggests roll-on deodorant instead of spray to avoid re-checks. Conventional lanes (Terminal 1 control areas 2 and 4, the central area): 100 ml containers in one clear 1-litre bag in the tray, and electronics go in the tray. You cannot know in advance which lane you will get, so the airport tells you to pack to the 100 ml rule. On 21 May 2026 it said the central Terminal 1 lanes would be rebuilt with CT scanners from autumn 2026, so this will change. Flights to the USA and Israel have a second security check, so allow extra time.
Medicines, baby food and duty-free in sealed bags are exempt from the 100 ml limit. Rules vary by airport, so check your return and connecting airports too.
